Dear Sir / Madam,
Greetings,
I take this chance to introduce M.S.Panwar Community & Technical College, Solan. We are the pioneers in starting the first Community College in North India in the year 2006. I got an opportunity to visit 9 Community Colleges in USA as a Fulbright Scholar in September-October, 2014 which gave me an insight about the Concept of Community Colleges in USA. In July-August, 2015, I along with my wife visited another 10 Community Colleges in Michigan and Taxes states of USA. This trip helped us in understanding the functioning of Community Colleges and learning the best practices followed by them. Again, in July-August,2016, I spend two months in Montcalm Community College in Michigan and visited six colleges in Dallas County of Texas State. We also signed MoUs for student & faculty exchange with three Community colleges in USA. It was a great learning experience because the concept of Community Colleges is popular in United States of America (USA).
I am pleased to inform you that M.S.Panwar Community & Technical College is organizing a two-day National Workshop on “Community Colleges As An Alternative Mode of Education in India- A Road Ahead” in Karma Resorts, Dharampur, Shimla Hills on 11th and 12th November, 2016. The main objective of this workshop is to provide platform to the upcoming Community Colleges to get to know how to start a Community College and to provide an opportunity to existing Community Colleges to interact and network with each other and learn from each other. We would also be happy to share experiences of our visit to Community Colleges in USA with the participants.
A panel of experts from India and USA would be the keynote/guest speakers on this occasion. Each Community College can send two representatives. The participants would have to bear their own travelling and lodging expenses. However, accommodation on payment basis can be arranged on prior intimation.
The Registration Fee for the Workshop is Rs 2,000/- per participant to be paid in the form of DD in favour of Director, M.S.Panwar Community College payable at Solan . The participants would be provided working lunch, tea and snacks for two days along with the workshop kit. All participants would be get Certificate for participation. I hope your organization would avail this wonderful opportunity of interacting and learning best practices of Community Colleges.
Confirmation of participation would be appreciated
