It includes scholarly work of comparative and critical studies of Eastern and Western philosophies and religions. The journal also includes sections on discussion articles and book reviews. The Philosophy Group of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences,
IIT Bombay, is pleased to inform you the launch of a new MA +PhD
Dual-degree Programme in philosophy from July 2020 in the academic year

The salient features of the Programme are:

  1. An MA in Philosophy for the first time in an IIT.
  2. It offers a 6-year dual degree – MA+PhD – in Philosophy (2-year MA
    Programme with the option to leave after MA or enter a 4-year PhD
    Programme) that is intensive in terms of its curriculum and intent.
  3. Unique Strength of MA Programme: Importance given to both Indian and
    Western philosophical traditions in Core Courses and Electives with three
    interdisciplinary non-Philosophy Courses in Humanities and Social
    Sciences. It also has a Project Work (a small dissertation) in two stages
    in the third and fourth semesters for MA students and a third stage in the
    fifth semester for those who opt for PhD programme.
  4. Eligibility: A Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline (BA/BSc/BTech/BCom,
    etc.) with 60% marks for general and 55% marks for reserved categories.
  5. Admission Process: Students will enter the MA in Philosophy Programme
    through a written examination and a subsequent interview in June every

Submission Guidelines
* First page of your Book Chapter should contain the title of the Book Chapter, the Name of Author (s), Designation, Name of Institution, Contact Number 
* The Book Chapter should be in English, Hindi & Marathi Language.

* The Book Chapter should be in single line spacing in times new roman font (English), Krutidev 12 (Marathi) with 12 points throughout the entire paper in single line spacing and should have 2500 – 3000 words.
* Abstract not exceeding 150 words with a maximum of 6 keywords below.
* The title should be in bold times new roman/ Krutidev with font size 14 point and captions and sub-captions should be in bold with font size 12 point throughout the book chapter.
* The book chapter should be prepared in accordance with a definite research methodology and comprise of suggestions and conclusions.
* References should be in American Psychological Association (APA) format (for book chapters under the streams (Arts / Social Sciences / Humanities / Sciences) duly numbered and cited accordingly in the text body of the book chapter. The authors are advised to avoid footnotes.
*  A one-inch margin to be maintained on all sides (Top, Bottom, Left & Right) of the book chapter document
* Author (s) must ensure the provision of  non-plagiarized content of their respective book chapter, wherein the maximum plagiarism acceptance (references (including author’s self-referencing) and corresponding text citations) rate for this edited book is only 25%.

International Journal of Advance Contemporary Research ( ISSN 2394-9503 Online Journal ) is now accepting submissions for its upcoming Third issue . Papers may be submitted under the following categories:

Theme : Women Rights , Human Rights , Child Rights , Environmental Law, Constitutional law , Business and Human Rights , Human Trafficking , Bride Trafficking, Legal Research, or any other Contemporary  issue etc

Long Articles: Between 4000 to 8000 words, inclusive of footnotes. Papers in this category are expected to engage with the theme comprehensively, examine literature comprehensively, and offer an innovative reassessment of the current understanding of that theme. It is advisable, though not necessary, to choose a theme that is of contemporary importance. Purely theoretical pieces are also welcomed.

Essays: Between 3000 and 5000 words, inclusive of footnotes. Essays are far more concise in scope. These papers usually deal with a very specific issue, and argue that the issue must be conceptualized differently. They are more engaging, and make a more easily identifiable, concrete argument.

Case Notes: Between 1500 and 2500 words, inclusive of footnotes. This is an analysis of any contemporary judicial pronouncement, whether in India or elsewhere. It must identify and examine the line of cases in which the decision in question came about, and comment on implications for the evolution of that branch of law.


Submissions are preferred in the font style ‘Garamond‘, font size 12, spacing of 1.5 unit. The title of the paper should be in font size 16 and bold. The name of name of the author(s) should be in font size 16 and italic. All the footnotes should be in the font style ‘Garamond‘ and font size 10. All submissions must be word processed, and compatible with Microsoft Word 2007. Submissions must conform to the Bluebook (19th edn.) system of citation. No hard copies of submission are accepted.

Qualitative Research Methods Workshop!
Workshop Details:
Dr. Swati Karve is conducting a 8 hours workshop online on Qualitative Research Methods. Workshop will be conducted for 4 days for two hours each day from 6 pm to 8 pm from April 13 to April 16. There will be one follow up session for one hour a week after the last session.
