About the Organizers

EAST (Environmental Advisory for Sustainable Trust) is a registered Trust (Reg. No. 1544/10) based in Palayamkottai, Tirunelveli District, Tamil Nadu with the motto “SAVE US”. Location

Kanyakumari District (also spelled Kanniyakumari or Kanniakumari District) is a district of Tamil Nadu state, India, and is the southernmost land area of mainland India. Kanyakumari district is at the southern tip of peninsular India. It is bordered on the west by Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala state and by Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu to the north and east. It is sometimes referred to as “Land’s End”. The southeastern boundary is coastal and comprises the Gulf of Mannar (Bay of Bengal), while on the south and the southwest; the boundaries are the Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea.

Background of the Conference

Tourism can bring many economic and social benefits, particularly in rural areas and developing countries, but mass tourism is also associated with negative effects. Tourism can only be sustainable if it is carefully managed so that potential negative effects on the host community and the environment are not permitted to outweigh the financial benefits. Tourism has become a major international industry, with many countries all over the world relying on the income it produces. Its economic advantages as a major source of finance and employment frequently leads to its active promotion by governments and other institutions, independent of the consequences on the environment, ecology and social structure of affected regions.
This conference will explore issues concerned with achieving environmental social and economic sustainability of tourism alongside the governance mechanisms needed to support sustainable tourism. It could also discuss how new resources ought to be employed to avoid the errors committed in the past and propose remedial actions when required. The conference will also focus on empirical work and case studies from around the world, which can offer new insights and best practice guidance.

Objective of the Conference

This conference is to provide a forum for academics, researchers and professionals from industry and academia to discuss new concepts, progressive methodologies and innovative practices in social science. Evaluation based on relevancy of paper on given themes, content and quality of the paper and impotency of findings. Both oral and virtual paper submission will be eligible to “Best paper award”. Decision of conference organizing committee is the final decision.
Best Presentation Awards
This award will be granted to presenters based on their presentations at the conference. Awards will be granted in relevant to each sessions. Quality of the presentation, content of the presentation and level of interaction with the audience in the Q&A session will be used by Session Chair to select the best paper in his/her session. Decision of Session Chair will be the final decision.

Best Student Award / International
This award will be granted to student presentations who representing countries other than the India. Quality of the presentation, time management and quality of the findings relevant to ongoing tourism practices may have higher level of chance to get selected. Decision of the Conference Research panel will be the final decision.
Best Student Award / Local
This award will be granted to best student research presentation who represents India. Quality of the presentation and findings, time management is critical for selection. Most importantly how much findings are relevant to the current tourism industry in India and ability of applying those findings to upgrade Indian tourism industry may have higher level of chances to get selected as best student paper award. Decision of conference Research panel will be the final decision.

We provide accommodation only on specific request at free of cost.

Other Important Information

The participants will receive a participation certificate, researchers who present their works will be given a presentation certificate. Fee once paid is not refundable under any circumstances such as of disqualification of the paper or non-participation. Decision about the selection of the abstract, full paper and for the presentation is reserved by the organizers of the conference. The certificates will be issued immediately after the paper presentation. Attendance certificate will be made available on request.
