1. Case Reporter/Analyst – High Court Division [30 Positions]
2. Case Reporter/Analyst – Supreme Court Division [5 Positions]

Work Profile

Case Reporters shall be the core team member of the flagship Courtroom Team. The primary work profile of Case Reporter shall be to prepare case note/ case report/ case analysis for the latest judgments from High Court/ Supreme Courts/ Tribunals.

For better administration, the team would be divided into High Court Reporters, Supreme Court Reporters, and Tribunals Reporters.

Case Reports should be around 500-800 words and each Case Reporter shall be expected to submit at least 2 Cases a week [for 6 months interns] or 4 cases a week [for 3 months interns].

2. Anyone who is interested and has the enthusiasm to spread legal awareness among the common people of the nation;
3. Anyone who feels the media should report stories in an unbiased manner and should not go for paid contents;

Remuneration

Eligibility

Only Law Students can apply for any position he/she desires. They may be from any stream, any year of study, and any law college.

ABOUT THE COMPETITION:
With an objective to enhance the writing talents of young budding philosophers, Philosophy Today come up with the 1st National Essay Writing Competition 2020.

THEME:
“Concept of ‘ISOLATION/ Kaivalya (कैवल्य)’ in Indian Thought”
 

CONCEPT NOTE:
‘Isolation’ is not a novel concept for Indian philosophical and religious traditions. Conversations about ‘solitude’, ‘detachment’ or ‘separation’ was a central theme for liberation. It is also known as ‘Kaivalya (कैवल्य)’ in various religious systems. According to Yogasutra, it is the separation of purusha from prakriti which provides liberation from the cycle of rebirth. Even in Buddhist and Jaina thoughts isolation and detachment is the central pillar to attain Moksha. Current state of isolation emerged due to Covid-19 pandemic gave us time and opportunity to re-think and reflect on the whole purpose of Isolation and detachment in the philosophical paradigm.  The present essay competition is focused upon this theme and invite scholarly written articles resonating to the contemporary scenario.

 
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
The competition is open for all students (BA, MA, MPHIL, PHD)
 
INSTRUCTIONS:
Only original articles must be submitted.
Plagiarism would lead to disqualification.
The essay should be written in English or Hindi
 
FORMATTING GUIDELINES:
Submissions should be made in .doc or .docx (MS Word) format only
Word Limit- Maximum 2000 words (including footnotes)
Accompanied by an abstract (150 words)
All references should be made as footnotes and in APA format

Guidelines

• • Authors should not mention their name or any kind of identification mark in the manuscript. Any manuscript found to have any details of authors shall be rejected upfront. 
• • Article shall be of 2500-10000 words, book reviews: 1000-1500 words, short comment: 1000-1500 words.
• • All submissions have to be made in MS Word format with Font size 12 and 1.5 line space.
• • Co-authorship is allowed to a maximum of 5 Authors. 5 separate certificates will be provided to each author. 
• • The piece should not be overly technical, but practical and engaging.
• • Papers must be written solely by the candidate, in English, and may not have been submitted for publication elsewhere.
• • All the claims of the authors, in the body of the manuscript, are expected to be backed by reasons along with proper citations [any uniform citation will do] and shall not be merely an assertion.
• • Submission should also mandatorily include the author’s view, in the conclusion, taking into considerations the aspects/contentions discussed throughout the manuscript.
• • Plagiarism is strictly prohibited and shall lead to immediate rejection.

• • The deadline for submissions is 11:59 PM Indian Standard Time on July 31, 2020

The Review Process & Other Information:

• • Please check the complete Peer Review Policy and Article Withdrawal Policy before submission.

• • The copyright of the manuscript will vest with The Law Brigade Group. Due accreditation will be given to the authors.
• • For the purpose of anonymity, the author/s shall not disclose their identities anywhere in the body of the manuscript.
• • The submissions will undergo a double blind peer-review process.
• • The Editorial Board reserves the right for modification of the manuscript to maintain the standard and quality of the submission. The board will notify its decision and other relevant information through email.

Brief Information about the course:

Further, special lectures will be taken by experts from foreign universities and industry. In the final semester, students will have the option to opt for a dissertation under one supervisor from the field of Philosophy/Psychology/Cognitive Science/Neuroscience/Computer Science or opt for an Industry internship. Scholarships may be available as per the norms of Panjab University.

NOTE:
COGJET is not compulsory for admission in the course but will carry marks weightage. So, those who have taken the COGJET-2020 are advised to fill in the total marks in the application and also upload their scorecard. Those who have not taken the COGJET-2020, need to leave the option blank.
