Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) offers Master of Arts in Philosophy (MAPY). It is intended not only to enhance career prospects for students but also to train the mind for better logical thinking, mental discipline, ability for analysis and synthesis, critical reflection on social and political realities. It also becomes a means to social transformation to build a better nation and to ensure social equality, human dignity and human rights for the citizens. To successfully complete this programme, a student will have to earn 64 credits over a period of 2 to 5 years. This programme is offered only in English. However, a student is permitted to write the exam in Hindi.

Eligibility for MAPY is Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent.

This is to inform you that the following schemes will be dealt with by the University of Hyderabad for which University Gants Commission has signed an MoU with University of Hyderabad:-

1. BSR Faculty Fellowship

2. One Time Research Grant

3. Start-up-Grant to the newly recruited faculty

Prof. Anunay Samanta, Department of Chemistry, Hyderabad University, Hyderabad has been appointed as National Coordinator.

Following procedure will be followed for the above schemes:

A PDF file of the application, duly completed following the existing guidelines, is to be

e-mailed to nc.ugcfrps@uohyd.ac.in and the university – certified paper document (in original)

is to be sent byspeed – post to :The Coordinator, UGC, Cell, Faculty Research Promotion Schemes, School of Chemistry, University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad – 500046.

The application will be evaluated only after the receipt of its both electronic and paperversions.

Henceforth no application for the above mentioned schemes will be entertained inUGC.
