The Indian Philosophical Congress – 93 rd Session

On behalf of the Indian Philosophical Congress, we extend you the most cordial invitation to attend its 93rd Session, to be hosted by Prof. Baidyanath Labh, Vice-Chancellor, Nava Nalanda Mahavihara, Nalanda 803111 Bihar, from March 9-11, 2019. The Asian Philosophy Conference will be held on 7th and 8th March 2019, (Topic for the APC: “Asian Paradigms of Peace and Prosperity”) and IPC is from 9th March – 11 March 2019. (Topic for IPC: “Paradigms of Peace and Prosperity”). Members are requested to participate in the joint session of the APC and IPC from 7th to 11 March 2019. Arrangements for lodging and boarding will be made from 6th to 12th March to enable the members to participate in both events. Swami Srihariprasad, managing Trustee, Sri Vishnu Mohan Foundation, Chennai, is the General President of the 93rd IPC session.
The Vice Chancellors/Directors/Deans are requested to nominate delegates from their Universities/Institutes to attend the 93ndSessionof the Congress. The Heads of the Departments of Philosophy and the members of the Indian Philosophical Congress are requested to disseminate this information in their institutions and academic circles.
IPC Membership Fees
Three categories of membership fees of the IPC are as follows:
Life Membership: Rs.3000/- Ordinary Membership: Rs.500/-
(annual) Associate Membership: Rs. 150/-(annual for students)
All persons (excluding Life members) attending the Congress are required to pay the membership fee of the IPC. The fee may be paid along with the registration fee of the93rd Session.
Submission of Papers
10th February 2019 is the last date for submission of abstracts of 500 words along with papers of not more than 1500 words (4 pages, double spaced). Paper writers are requested to furnish proof of their membership of IPC while submitting papers in either soft or hardcopy to: Dr. Rana Purushottam Kumar Singh, Local Secretary, IPC, 93rd Session, Dept. of Pali, Nava Nalanda Mahavihara (Deemed University), Bihar 803111.

The Departments of Philosophy of Universities, Institutes and Colleges may send their nominations, along with the bio-data of the nominees for the National Award. Authors may send 3 copies of their books for the Book Award. Books published during the year 2018 are considered for the award. Students who are interested in participating in the above essay competition should send their essays in two copies along with summaries in 200 words & proof of membership of IPC. How to Reach the Venue
The present campus of the Mahavihara is situated on the southern bank of the historical lake, Indrapushkarani. Close to the northern bank of the lake like the ruins of the ancient Nalanda Mahavihara. Nava Nalanda Mahavihara (NNM) is 100 kms from Patna by road, private and state transport buses leave for Bihar Sharif every five minutes. Tempos and taxis are available from Bihar Sharif. Nalanda is also 75 kms form Gaya by road. There is one train from New Delhi-Nalanda, 12391/12392 Shramajeevi Express. Many other trains come to Patna. The Nava Nalanda Mahavihara (NNM) is 03 kms from the Nalanda Railways Station. Nearest Airport in Patna Airport and another Railway Station is Bakhtiyarpur (BKP), 40 kms from Nalanda.
Registration
The registration fee covers both Asian Philosophy Conference and Indian Philosophical Congress: Regular: Rs3000/- Senior Citizen: Rs.2600/- Student: Rs 1500/- Foreigners: USD 50 (please add IPC membership fee as noted above) The fee may be deposited in the Account no: 1193101021635, IFSC Code: CNRB0001193 (Canara Bank, Nalanda, Account holder : Nava Nalanda Mahavihara The participants are advised to preferably remit the registration fees by electronic transfer like NEFT or IMPS using the above details. Alternatively, they may send their registration fees by way of a DD or Cheque drawn in favour of “Local Secretary, 93rd Session of IPC”, payable at Canara Bank, Nalanda. The DD/Cheque may be directly deposited in the above Bank and receipt may be sent with a covering letter to Local Secretary, Dr. Rana Purushhottam Kumar Singh. Life members should include proof of membership.
