WORLD VEDA – CONFERENCE

About the Conference

It is well known that the Vedas, containing the knowledge imparted by God for the well being of mankind, are the store house of knowledge of various sciences and arts. They offer to the world a panorama of life, a variegated patterns of customs, manners and traditions, and a rich wealth of science, philosophy, literature and culture. Maharshi Patanjlali, the great commentator of Vyakarana (Grammar) underlines the glory and importance of the Vedas and Vedangas.

 

Right from its beginning, Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar, has been constantly engaged in promoting the Vedic knowledge and now once again reiterating the same firm resolution, the Vishwavidyalaya is going to organize a world-Veda conference.

 

Conference Topics

The areas and sub-areas of deliberations would be :

(i) Social and Oriental Sciences in the Vedas : Political Science, Economics, Geography, Ayurveda, Yoga, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology and Commerce, Management.

(ii) Science in the Vedas : Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, Mathematics, Botany, Microbiology, Astrology and Astronomy, Aeronautics, Agriculture, Cosmology, Engineering and Technology, Architecture.

 

Call For Papers and extended Abstract

Papers are Invited on any of the areas related to the main subject of the conference. Scholars are requested to submit the abstract/s of their respective paper/s to the Co-ordinator along with the registration form and Registration Fee by demand draft drawn

in favour of “Registrar, Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar” by July 31, 2009.

 

The authors are requested to submit the extended abstract of maximum 500 words with authors’ details by email as word document to mahavir_gkv@yahoo.co.in. Alternatively the soft copy (preferably on CD with fonts used) along with hard copy on A4 size paper may be sent by post.

Eligibility For Participation

Faculty of AICTE approved Engineering Colleges and Universities, research personnel from R&D organizations, faculty and students from other than AICTE approved Engineering Colleges of different academic background including the related fields of humanities and social sciences, are eligible.

Course Fees

  Faculty from AICTE approved Engineering Colleges and Universities with approval from the organization as QIP candidate NO FEES (Other benefits as per AICTE norm). A registration fee of Rs.300 (refundable) is required with application.
  Sponsored candidates from private sector/industry Rs. 6000
  Faculty applicants from other than AICTE approved Engineering Colleges Rs 3000
  Research scholars/PG students (course not open to UG students) Rs 2000
  IIT Kharagpur faculty/student No fees

Travel, boarding and lodging expenses are to be borne by participants from other than AICTE approved Engineering Colleges. However, upon request well in advance, efforts will be made to book accommodation as per availability.

Course fees are to be paid strictly by bank draft in favor of ‘CEP-STC, IIT Kharagpur’ payable at Kharagpur.

Transport will be provided to take the delegates to the Registration Counters and then to their respective places of accommodation. Those arriving without prior intimation may avail Auto Rickshaw / hired vehicle from the Kuppam Railway Station to reach the University campus.
