National seminar on Gandhian concept of Media Literacy and Youth

Papers are invited from academics, media practitioners, students,researchers and other concerned on the following Sub themes Ø
Gandhiji’s concept of media literacy,
Ø Present day scenario of media literacy in the country,
Ø Real life experiences in spreading the concept,
Ø Utilization of mass media power for societal uplift,
Ø Media as a ‘mass mobilizer’,
Ø Media and youth development,
Ø Inculcating positive media habits into the young minds,
Regulations for participation and other aspects
1. Abstracts must be submitted by e mail within 500 words by March 4 th , 2011,
2. Acceptance of abstracts would be notified by March 7 th by e mail,
3. Full papers to be submitted by 15th March, both in hard (two copies) and soft copy in a DVD and e mail,
4. Length of the papers must be within 5,000 words,
5. APA Reference style is to be followed for the papers,
6. Presenters of selected papers would be allotted 10 to 12 minutes for a power point presentation,

Rules of participation:
1. A participation fee of Rs 750 (both for paper presenters or others) has to be paid by DD preferably payable at SBI, Tezpur branch (Code 00195). For members of T.U. fraternity participation of free of any charges.
2. As there is very limited accommodation available it can be arranged only on prior information for willing outstation participants. Accommodation, if arranged by organizers would be mainly in TU guest house on a twinsharing basis on payment by participants directly. For students, a few beds
in hostels can be arranged also only on prior information.
3. Outstation participants allotted accommodation would be expected to arrive at the TU campus by the afternoon / evening of March 28th,
4. Participants not availing accommodation must arrive at TU campus by 9 a. m. sharp on March 29 th ,
5. Only those participants attending every session regularly would be issued participation certificates,
6. Writers of selected papers must present the same himself or herself or through a representative or Second author. Otherwise certificate would not be issued.
