ICSSR invites applications for Research Programmes for the year 2016-17 from Indian social scientists. The abstract of the study should be in the field of social science disciplines. Details about eligibility, terms and conditions, etc. can be accessed and downloaded as under:

The applicant must visit ICSSR website http://www.icssr.org under Research Projects for complete information.

The Applicants will be required to submit the following:

1. Brief Abstract of the proposal in 1500 words.

2. Composition of the Research Team including Director/Co-Directors, Departments and/ or Collaborating Institutions.

3. CV of all lead researchers, and Institutional profile of institutions through which funding will be sought.

Candidates will need to provide profile/certificate to show that the institution through which the project is routed. All application forms must be submitted in hard copy and soft copy (E-mail:rpicssr@gmail.com) alongwith two copies of abstract, duly forwarded as per the prescribed format to:

The Post Liberalization Rural Transformation 4. Culture, Literature and Society: Emerging Trends 5. Theoretical issues in social sciences 6. Indian Intellectual traditions and their Contemporary Relevance 7. Social Media, Media ethics and Regulations: the Impending Issues 8. Research Methodology in Social Sciences with focus on disciplines of Political sciences, Sociology, Psychology, education.

Group VI

  1. Gender Violence – concept, pattern and incidence in public and private (family) spheres 2. Gender Violence: Caste, ethnic, religious and regional dimension  3. Social Roots of Gender Violence in India- processes related to economic, social, cultural transformation

Terms and Conditions for applying Sponsored Research Projects 2015-16 a) The themes under the sponsored research programme focus on the issues of contemporary relevance, less explored areas of study and those involving policy implication.

  1. b) In understanding research on these themes, the ICSSR expects that the research will develop new understanding and insight on the issues which become bench mark in terms of concept, theory, methodology and research outcomes.
  2. c) Given the significance of the sponsored research, the financial support from ICSSR would be of higher scale varying from a minimum of fifteen lakhs rupees to a maximum of fifty lakhs rupees depending on the nature of work. Those proposals with a budget estimates of below fifteen lakhs rupees may not be considered.
  3. d) Applicants should mention Group and Themes as mentioned in the Thrust Areas (both number and title to be given, i.e for e.g., Group I: Theme 1-Growth, Poverty and Inequality)
  4. e) Those Proposals do not fall under the purview as mentioned in our Group/Theme will not be considered by the ICSSR.
  5. f) Given the scale and nature of research under sponsored programme, the ICSSR expects that the research will be inter-disciplinary in character and that researchers from different discipline will constitute a team.
  6. g) Proposals under this scheme will be accepted from scholars/institutions in a field of study with a proven record of research in the proposed field of study.
  7. h) Those scholars, who have ongoing Research Projects (Responsive/Sponsored) as Main Project Director/Co-Project Director, need not apply.
  8. i) The Council reserves the right to reject any application without assigning any reason. The Council is also not responsible for any postal loss/delays in communications.
  9. j) Project Director has to be from Reserved Category, if the grant has to be released under Reserved Category (subject to its selection/approval).

Conditions for Consideration

 

a)The themes under the sponsored research program focus on the issues of contemporary relevance, less explored areas of study and those involving policy implication

 

b) In undertaking research on these themes, the ICSSR expects that the research will develop new understanding and insight on the issues which become bench mark in terms of concept, theory, methodology and research outcomes.

 

c) Given the significance of the sponsored research, the financial support from ICSSR would be of higher scale varying from a minimum rupee of fifteen lakh to seventy lakh depending on the nature of research.

 

d) Given the scale and nature of research under sponsored program, the ICSSR expects that the research will be inter-disciplinary in character and that researchers from different discipline will constitute a team. Research teams may consist of more than one department/Centers/institute. In some cases, individual researchers will also be considered

 

e) Proposals will be accepted under this scheme from scholars/institutions in a field of study with a proven record of research in the proposed field of study.

 

 

The last date to receive proposals is 15, July 2014.

Circular for inviting proposals from the Colleges located in

Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab,

Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttranchal for providing Additional

Assistance to Universities and 5500 Colleges already covered

under Section 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956.

 

The University Grants Commission has been providing financial assistance to the

Colleges for Additional Assistance to Universities and 5500 Colleges already

covered under Section 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956. Proposals of the eligible

aided Colleges listed under Section 2 f and 12 B of the UGC Act have to be

considered by the UGC as per Guidelines of the XI Plan Development Schemes.
