Indian Council of Philosophical Research and UGC Academic Staff College, University of Lucknow
announce a special winter Refresher Course in Philosophy
“Philosophy of Language – Basic Concepts and
Some Concerns in Indian and Western Philosophy”
to be held from January 9-30, 2010.
This is a unique opportunity for teachers, research scholars and M.Phil. students of Philosophy and allied
disciplines to learn from some of the most eminent scholars of the subject on technical issues of Philosophy of
language. The proposed speakers for the course include Professor J.N. Mohanty, Professor P.K.
Mukhopadhyaya, Professor Mrinal Miri, Professor Srinivasa Rao, Professor Ashok Vohra, Professor R.P.
Singh, Professor D.N. Dwivedi, Professor H.N. Mishra, Professor Nirmalagshu Mukherjee, Professor Ambika
Datta Sharma, and others. The Course will be a Three week residential course with 18 working days of 8

The Indian Council of Philosophical Research proposes to organize a Fellows’ Meet from 21st May to 24th May 2009 at the New Premises of the Academic Centre, Vipul Khand, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow.

The programme during those days will comprise of the following:

  • Orientation Lectures by experts.
  • All the current fellows who have completed one year or more will share their experience about their work and give feedback to the ICPR and possible helpful suggestions to new Fellows.
  • Fellows may give their suggestions for ICPR to help them to complete their work successfully and in time.

The Council will make your boarding and lodging  arrangements at Lucknow and you may meet your to and fro 2nd Sleeper Rail/Bus fare from your contingency grant. If you have exhausted your contingency fund, you may make a special request for a travel grant.
