Qualifications:- Students studying in 1st or 2nd Year of B.A LL.B Course
Responsibilities: As a Legal Researcher, your responsibilities would include
1. Update Law Mantra on legal issues, news, latest changes in judicial systems of our country. The Researcher also has to update Law Mantra on latest amendments and alteration of statutes by domestic as well as international authoritative bodies.

2. Research about upcoming events and news. Researcher must enquire and find the latest topics of discussion in the recent legal scenario and must present his report to the Head of the Research team.

3. Preparation of various kind of questionnaires for the purpose of gathering the views of the general public on that topic of concern. The topic can be legal as well as social but must by anyway relate to legal matters.

4. Conduct various survey and research on the legal issues as well as the challenges faced by the common people and the judicial bodies in the process of the administration of justice.

5. Conduct interviews of Lawyers, jurists, Law firm associates and other such signatories, on behalf of Law Mantra, regarding various informative and constructive legal matters.

6. Engage in consultations, training and online conferences with our core committee.

After successfully organising the Jurisedge 1st National PPT Writing Competition, 2016, we proudly bring to you the Jurisedge 1st National Article Writing Competition, 2017. In recent years, there has been a sustained focus on the role played by the higher Indian Judiciary in devising and monitoring the implementation of measures for pollution control, conservation of forests and wildlife protection. Therefore, the topic for this year’s Article Writing Competition is “Indian Judiciary and Environmental law”.

The theme is broad in nature; hence, the participants may take up any Topic/Trend/Issue/Development covered under the purview of the Theme.

We would like to invite students and professionals to express their valuable viewpoints, by participating in the competition.

UGC National Seminar on Eight Decades of N.E. Cinema
Last Date – 17th January, 2017

A UGC sponsored national level cinema on “Eight Decades of North Eastern Cinema and Beyond” is being organized by the Information & Career Guidance Cell of Lakhimpur Commerce College. The two-day national seminar is scheduled to be held on 30th and 31st January, 2017 at the college in collaboration with Lakhimpur Cine Club, North Lakhimpur.

This was stated by Dr. B.S. Behera, the Principal of Lakhimpur Commerce College in a press release today. The seminar will see participation by prominent film makers, film critics and film personalities of international fame from the North East region.
