“RELIGIOUS LAWYERS AS CATALYST FOR SOCIAL CHANGE” THREE DAYS WORKSHOP OF CATHOLIC RELIGIOUS LAWYERS IN INDIA
Rationale: “On the contrary I feel that the entry of religious persons to lawyering profession will only add lusture to the profession. The profession needs selfless dedicated persons to take up the causes of the downtrodden and of environmental protection, without being concerned with the fee paid.” (K. Balakrishnan Nair, J. in Mary Tresa P.J. @ Sr. Teena Jose Cmc vs. Bar Council of Kerala). Thus religious lawyers have a greater role to play in the justice administration system. It implies that we cannot sit back anymore but need to respond to the call of justice with renewed commitment and solidarity. The purpose of this workshop is to provide a platform for religious lawyers in India for networking and to plan out effective strategies for legal practice in various courts in the country.
This workshop is meant for all the Catholic Religious Lawyers in India (including those who have done and pursuing legal studies and who are in practice)
